Composition
Composition per suppository:
Active substance: Bovihaluronidase azoxime (Longidase®) - 3000 IU
Additive: cocoa butter - until a suppository of 1.3 g
Description: Suppositories torpedo-shaped, light yellow color with a weak specific odor of cocoa butter, marble staining is allowed.
Indications
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age in the form of monotherapy and as part of complex therapy of diseases accompanied by hyperplasia of connective tissue, including against the background of the inflammatory process:
  • in urology: chronic prostatitis, interstitial cystitis, stricture of urethra and ureter, Peyronie's disease, initial stage of benign prostatic hyperplasia, prevention of scar formation and strictures after surgical interventions on the urethra, bladder, ureters;
  • in gynecology: adhesive process (prevention and treatment) in a small pelvis with chronic inflammatory diseases of the internal genital organs, after gynecological manipulations, including artificial abortions, previous surgical interventions on pelvic organs; intrauterine synechia, tubal peritoneal infertility, chronic endomyometritis;
  • in dermatovenerology: limited scleroderma, prevention of fibrotic complications of sexually transmitted infections;
  • in surgery: prevention and treatment of adhesions after surgical interventions on the abdominal organs; long-term non-healing wounds;
  • in pulmonology and phthisiology: pneumofibrosis, siderosis, tuberculosis (cavernous-fibrous, infiltrative, tuberculoma), interstitial pneumonia, fibrosing alveolitis, pleurisy;
  • to increase the bioavailability of antibiotic therapy in urology, gynecology, dermatovenereology, surgery, pulmonology, etc.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Polyoxidonium is contraindicated in pregnancy, lactation and children under 6 months of age (there is no clinical experience of use).
Recommendations for use
The drug should be used only according to the indications, the route of administration and in the doses indicated in the instructions. If after treatment there is no improvement or the symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, you should consult your doctor.
1 time a day every day, every other day or 2 times a week.
If necessary, it is possible to carry out repeated courses of therapy in 3-4 months. When the drug is administered again, its effectiveness does not decrease.
Recommended dosage regimens
For treatment in adults:
- rectally 1 supp. 1 time per day after bowel cleansing;
- vaginally for gynecological diseases, 1 supp. Once a day (at night), it is inserted into the vagina while lying down.
Method of administration and dosage for adults
- for chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases in the acute stage - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day daily for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- in acute infectious processes and to activate regenerative processes (fractures, burns, trophic ulcers) - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day daily. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- for gynecological diseases - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day every day for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- with exacerbation of urological diseases (urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis) - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day daily. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- for pulmonary tuberculosis - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day daily for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 20 supp. Further, it is possible to use supportive therapy - 6 mg suppositories 2 times a week, up to 2-3 months;
- in the complex therapy of oncological diseases during chemotherapy and radiation therapy - suppositories 12 mg daily 2-3 days before the start of the course of chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Further - 12 mg 2 times a week, a course of up to 20 supp.;
- for allergic diseases complicated by an infectious syndrome, - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day daily. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- for rheumatoid arthritis - suppositories 12 mg every other day. The course of treatment is 10 supp.
For prevention (monotherapy):
- exacerbations of chronic foci of infections - 10 supp.;
- influenza and ARVI - suppositories 12 mg 1 time per day. Course - 10 supp.;
- Secondary immunodeficiencies resulting from aging - suppositories 12 mg 2 times a week. Course - 10 supp., 2-3 times a year.
For the treatment of children and adolescents from 6 to 18 years old:
For children and adolescents from 6 to 18 years old, suppositories are administered only rectally, 1 suppository each. 6 mg once a day after bowel cleansing:
- in case of chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases in the acute stage - suppositories 6 mg 1 time per day daily for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- in acute infectious processes and to activate regenerative processes (fractures, burns, trophic ulcers) - 6 mg suppositories 1 time per day daily. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- in case of exacerbation of urological diseases (urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis) - 6 mg suppositories 1 time per day daily. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- for pulmonary tuberculosis - 6 mg suppositories 1 time per day daily for 3 days, then every other day. The course of treatment is 20 supp. Further, it is possible to use supportive therapy - 6 mg suppositories 2 times a week, up to 2-3 months;
- in the complex therapy of oncological diseases during chemotherapy and radiation therapy - 6 mg suppositories every day 2-3 days before the start of the course of chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Further - 6 mg 2 times a week, a course of up to 20 supp.;
- for allergic diseases complicated by infectious syndrome - 6 mg suppositories 1 time per day daily. The course of treatment is 10 supp.;
- for rheumatoid arthritis - 6 mg suppositories every other day. The course of treatment is 10 supp.
For prevention (monotherapy):
- exacerbations of chronic foci of infections, recurrent herpes infection of the urogenital tract - 6 mg suppositories every other day. Course - 10 supp.;
- influenza and ARVI - 6 mg suppositories 1 time per day. Course - 10 supp.
For patients receiving long-term immunosuppressive therapy, oncological patients, exposed to radiation, with an acquired immune system defect (HIV), long-term maintenance therapy with Polyoxidonium ® is indicated  (for adults - 12 mg, for children over 6 years old - for 6 mg 1-2 times a week).
Contraindications
increased individual sensitivity;
acute renal failure;
pregnancy (there is no clinical experience of use);
lactation period;
children under 6 years of age.
Carefully
Chronic renal failure (used no more than 2 times a week).
Side effects
Very rarely - local reactions in the form of redness, edema, itching of the perianal zone, vaginal itching (due to individual sensitivity to the components of the drug).
